Podcast Consumers Don’t Link November 23, 2005

I just reviewed the Feedster 500.  Scott points out two things popularity and linking.  He also pointed out that Scoble was reset to zero for moving his blog over to wordpress so they added him manually.  PodTech.net has been moved three times due to traffic load and because we’re podcasts we seem not to be linked very often by bloggers.  I’ve increased my focus to put out a formal companion blog for PodTech.  Blogging and podcasting are important but different mediums.

I’ve noticed that blog and podcast consumption has different link behavior.  Bloggers love to link but people who listen to podcasts don’t link very often because they are in a different consumption mode – either mobile or not actively online.

Good to see Feedster take the first step in moving in this direction.  Obviously some tweaks needed but a good job.
