The Red Herring just put out an article on the search companies at Demo. I know Liz the writer and her editor must have clearly cut out my other comments. Folks who know me all agree I’m far from a search skeptic. If anything I’m totally bullish on search. What I said at Demo is that most of the search ventures are recycled ideas and then went on to talk about the real search opporunity around the user experience in dealing with multimedia like audio and video. Nothing wrong with being a feature that is bought by Google or Yahoo for innovative search features or sites.
The new paradigm of search is moving from a ‘do what I say’ to ‘do what I mean’.
