PodTech Raised $5.5 Million of Venture March 16, 2006

PodTech raises $5.5 million of venture announced on the PodTech.net site.  Last week we closed a Series A financing in the amount of $5.5 million. Venture investors are Venrock and US Venture Partners and a handful of Silicon Valley angel investors.

Venrock’s Eric Copeland and USVP’s Paul Matteucci will join the board of PodTech. Angels that participated in the financing include Andy Kessler,former top analyst, cofounder of Velocity Capital, and now an author; Feng Deng, cofounder of Netscreen; Paul Carney, former controller of Google; Jim Anderson; Audrey Maclean.

Media is changing and I’m looking forward to growing our “Fresh Voices” platform. A professional network that enables people to connect and build conversations relationships via voices. I’m looking forward to expanding on PodTech’s content development and distribution plans.

With this financing PodTech is also launching three (3) media properties: 1. PodTech News Network – dedicated news podcasting team 2. PodTech InfoTalk Network – quality Fresh Voices content focusing on innovation, information, technology, and business 3. PodTech Sponsor Network – aggregated set of sponsors and paid content

I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved with PodTech since May 2005 including all my friends, fellow podcasters, guests on PodTech, family, and friends.
