Jeremy Liew writes for Venturebeat an op-ed piece. Very important direction that he heads with this story. It’s really about the New Business Model for Online Advertising -Vertical Media. Vertical media as I call it will be a big monetization area..it reminds me of search in 1998-99 – no one was making money but then it broke away with a contextual model (keywords)and the rest is history… focused media is a key area and no one is really making any money because the market can’t value the relevance of the audience. I believe this will change because too much money is coming into the sector. It is my opinion that the combination of content and technology will be a big driver to transition to the new ad models.
This is a great area to explore especially in blogging and podcasting. New groups like the Association of Downloadable Media are driving this kind of change. Obviously PodTech is a vertical media channel.
