The New Journalist – The Old Journalist as a Blogger

Journalists are moving fast to establish their writing franchises direct on the net.  Robert talks about a San Jose Mercury writer looking to blog.  This is a great trend that has worked very well for established producers.  We’ve seen Matt Marshall of Venturebeat quickly establish his franchise on the new direct media platform – The Internet via a Blog.   Others have gone direct like Tom Foremski previously a famed Financial Times writer.

Why?  Because a direct model changes the economics.  The writers make more money and develop better content with a participatory community.  This trend is good and benefits the producer (the writer) and users.    With the on boarding of all this new direct talent look for emerging networks or groups to emerge that include text, audio, and video – PodTech (www.PodTech.net)
